For Families Like Us is seeking passionate volunteers to join our Board of Directors. As a Board member, you will use your expertise, creativity, and professional network to provide crucial organizational and financial support to help fulfill our mission. These are volunteer positions with a meaningful impact.

Board Responsibilities

Board members will work collaboratively to achieve key goals, including:

• Serving as ambassadors to raise awareness about For Families Like Us, our mission, and the families we serve.
• Planning and executing fundraising initiatives, such as online campaigns, events, and happy hours.
• Building partnerships with businesses, organizations, and institutions in the Houston area.
• Designing volunteer and community engagement opportunities.
• Creating events and initiatives that support foster and kinship youth and their families.
• Leading advocacy efforts to advance the mission of For Families Like Us.
• Giving back to the community by offering your time, skills, and expertise.
• Gaining valuable hands-on experience in nonprofit management and fundraising.

Commitment Requirements

• Attend quarterly meetings (1–2 hours, in person or virtually).
• Participate in all Board-related events.
• Sub-committees may meet separately as needed.
• Commit to a one-year term of service.
