About Us
For Families Like Us
A 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization Established in 2017
Our Story
Founded by former foster parents and a former foster child, For Families Like Us was born from firsthand experiences of the challenges faced by children entering the foster and kinship care systems. These children often arrive with little more than the clothes on their backs and the uncertainty of what lies ahead.
Our Belief
We believe that beyond the essentials of food and shelter, there are items that help a child feel a sense of normalcy, dignity, and belonging. Every child deserves the chance to feel seen, valued, and cared for.
Our Mission
To provide children in foster and kinship care with clothing and other basic necessities that promote their well-being and self-esteem.
Our Inspiration
“But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart of compassion from him, how does the love of God dwell in him?”
—1 John 3:17
